Warehouse Speakers... my new favorite
About a month ago I replaced the British made Greenbacks in my Dr. Z Prescription RX with a WGS Reaper HP (50 watt Celestion G12H clone) and a Blackhawk (Celestion Gold clone).
I haven't had much time to sit and break them in... but now I believe their sounding as they should and what an amazing combination!! Almost everything I jack into them sounds great! Have tried a Bruno Cowtipper, Dr. Z Maserati and a z28. I just can't say enough good things about them. And for the money - its a no brainer to choose WGS rather than Celestions. Has anyone tried a WGS replacement in a blackface Deluxe Reverb? |

There's a WGS Reaper HP in my RedPlate Blues Machine that is a perfect match for it. Very full sounding with a little more midrange than a Jensen but not too much like some Celestion speakers.

I have the ET-65 and a couple of Veteran 10's. Will buy another once I decide which one. A few amp builders think they are alright also.

What would lead you to conclude that?

What is your beef with WGS? This is the 2nd recent post where you dismiss WGS as inferior, or unworthy. What are your motives? |

I have a Vet 10 in my 80's fender sidekick SS practice amp, sounds wonderful. I had tried the Invader 50 W "greenback derivative" in a 2x12 configuration. It sounded really good: mid-heavy but bright and would take overdrive very very well. But that's not my sound (I go for more Fender clean sounds) and I sold them. I look at WGS first when I'm thinking about buying a speaker, as I think they are great, the price is right, and the customer service is good. Probably next for me would be the G12C if I ever have a need for another speaker. |

Been "Window Shopping" at WGS for sometime. I have a Silvertone 1483 that still has the original 15" ceramic Jensen and I run it into a closed back cab that has 2x12 Celestions, (M-70s). Hopefully in the near future will be swapping out the Celestions for one WGS G12C + one G12C/S. Should make things a little more Fender sounding and have read nothing but good in regards to WGS speakers to date.

I just went to the Warehouse sight and didn't find the prices all that inexpensive. Are these just the retail prices or are there other stores
that sell these at discount prices?
