Not-Fender Amp Settings?

Interesting to see the replies on the Feder Amp Settings thread, so how about your favorite settings on your other amps?

Generally on both my Windsor and my G100 Marshall, I run:
Bass 5
Mid 5
Treble 6-8,
Vol depends on how much gain I want, but usually around noon or a little south of it. Sometimes I go crazy and dime the Vol, but that doesn't work, obviously, for every song.

I'll play- Vox Pathfinder 15R (don't let the SS, 8" spkr, and cheap price fool you- it's a great sounding amp)
CLOCK settings:

Gain 11-1
Volume-11-3 (I use an OD pedal from here, for more volume or distortion )
Boost-OFF
Treble 1-2
Bass-12
when using Trem I start with both controls at NOON and tweak from there
Reverb- 12-1

FWIW, years ago Joe Barden told me, "Forget the numbers. Just turn the knobs until it sounds good." Seems to work pretty well with every amp I've tried. ;-) CS

I'll third that!

But also add that seeing other's settings is pretty much useless because they likely use different guitars and play different music in different settings.

I agree there is no set formula even two amps the same model might have to be tweaked differently to sound good.

On my dirty Lil' Night Train:
  • Gain about 1 o'clock
  • Bright/Thick Mode Switch to Bright
  • C19/Bright cap switch (mod) to out
  • Treble to 10 o'clock
  • Bass all in (5 o'clock)
  • Volume, depends
  • Slope Control (another mod) set to about 3 o'clock (More low end biased tone)
This give me a moderate rockin' crunch. This amp is using TS 12AX7s in the pre-amp and PI and an EH 12BH7 in power output, into a 5 watt PP OT.

On my clean LNT:
  • Gain 11 o'clock
  • Bright/Thick switch to Bright
  • Treble to 10 o'clock
  • Bass to 4 o'clock
Clean tones for blues or country twang. This amp uses an EH 12AY7 in the pre-amp, a TS 12AT7 in the PI and an EH 12AU7 into a stock OT for the output.
