twin/blue dog/silver bell review

Ok so I emailed Ted Weber for speaker recommendations told him I am mostly a country tele player but I like a bit of hair on my tone, I play a SF Twin with no master. I felt like the Utahs were strangling the amp. He suggested one Blue Dog and one Silver Bell, I think that’s the combination Paisley ended up with in his new cabs. So I paid and they came, well I have gigged with it a few times and I have to say, these speakers really amazed me, I would say I got more out of this than any pickup swap. Chimey, not icepicky, warm, but not muddy, tight bottom end, and really articulate and responsive. There are nuances of my playing that are now becoming more a part of my arsenal due to the fact that this amp reacts to them, the amp really feels like an extension of the instrument now.

I highly recommend these speakers for a twin

This is a post I've been looking for. I just e-mailed Mr. Weber with a similar question. I've got an Allen Old Flame head going through the 2x12 cab... Looking for good country speakers,,, but not sparkly clean....

Great...

...blue dog + silver bell...

hi,
i also have the combination of the weber blue dog alnico and the silver bell, both in 12".
and they are really amazing speakers. as you said, you get a really fine tone with no harsh frequences and a really nice bottom.
before i had in my amp 2 celestion G12 H 30 75th anniversary edition speakers and they were fine, but the webers are a lot better and more ear- flattering.
take care

similar experience

Well guys, I have a Fender Vibro-Verb and a few years ago I put in three Weber 10" alnico speakers, a "Blue Pup", a "Silver Bell" and a P10N. I've got good news for you.............. they get better and better after they are broken in!
