Help me identify this Marshall head and cab

I believe it's solid state. Actually what I really want to know is what Celestion speakers came with the cab (you know the half stack with 212s in it)

I'm not certain if that cab in the picture is Marshall but I have played through one very very similar.

Any websites that can help me out? Thanks.

I can't help you with the speaker, but I have the head and it's a '75-'76 solid state amp (and my secret weapon in the studio), so I can't tell you anymore than that
This from a guy with a '67 plexi, Jubilee and 800.
Ok, ok... The head's a 2098 and the matching cab is supposed to be a 2412. But the Marshall cab is slightly larger than the head. The one in your photo is smaller, so I doubt it's a 2412. If I remember correctly, the 2412's were made in the U.S. to try and avoid the cost of shipping cabs from England. They had Eminence speakers in them.
*Just noticed that the speaker cab in your pic has the speakers off to the side. The Marshall cab had them in the middle of the cabinet*

I've heard a few guys playing through those '70s Marshall solid state amps, and they're pretty decent. Those amps have a pretty aggressive, swaggering tone, it definitely still sounds "like a Marshall".

The distortion effect on mine is it's winning attribute. Really organic and "Marshally" without having to turn the amp up to 10 or use a power soak.

Just brilliant dude. That's what the one I played through was like. 212s aligned vertically in the middle and the cab size was very similar to a typical marshall half stack. In fact it was actually taller than a modern day 1960 cab. And you're right the width is nearly equal that of the 2098 head.

Any websites to dig for this sort of info?

Thanks everybody.

I could never find any information on the web when I was looking a few years ago. In the Michael Doyle book "The History of Marshall", page 86 has a couple of pics from 70's ads and a few paragraphs. There's little interest in anything Marshall unless it has tubes in it :?
C'est Dommage,
Rich
