What do you think of Weber Copper Cap Recty's?

Just looking for an opinion here...makes it sound like a good idea...I have two, 5U4's, and they get quite warm...

I think they are great alternatives to tube rectifiers.

I'll eventually...

...replace ALL my rectifiers with them. Put one in my 2x12" Dr.Z MAZ 38 Sr. NR. Improved the bottom end and overall tone. And it already had pretty impressive tone. 8)

I've used a WR4 and WR3GT. No problems but be aware they get very hot also. The copper is a heat sink for the components inside.

They emulate a tube in that they drop the required voltage and an added benefit is that being solid state, they lack a filament. That's current your PT doesnt' have to supply. The idea is the PT runs cooler and may last longer.

They're also relatively heavy. If you don't have a tube clamp for the rectifier socket check it often or just install one. They can work their way out if the amp is bumped around.
