Bass Amp Goodwill score

Jordan Bassmaster J119. 75 watts of old solid state bass sound & it works. $30.00. Plus a Johnson 25R practice amp with reverb $10.00 & a Johnson strat for the parts mostly, ugly headstoke, $15.00. Ya just gotta love 1/2 price day at Goodwill...Now did the pictures take?

I hit a junk shop yesterday that must have a hundred old phonographs and radios. Gonna put togther a package deal and help 'em out a little.

I should have taken pics. First thing I saw was an old hot dog basket Jensen in a wedge cabinet for wall mount.

I think someone clued them into the value of old tube gear.

I used to see nice old tube console stereos, record players, and reel to reels for dirt cheap. I bought a couple of Voice of Music reel to reels for about 5 bucks.

Now even the old solid state units are bringing higher prices.

Nice score on the gear though.

Hey TeleDrifter - what part of town are you in? Most of the good finds for me have been up on the north side of town.

The Brass Armadillo sometimes has some cool gear, but it comes with antique store prices.

Those were supposed to be pretty good amps. If nothing else, might have a nice speaker in it.

When my brother was in high school the bass player in their little band had a Jordan bass amp like that, as I recall it sounded good, not real loud though.
Cool score for $30!

Rg, I'm in east/central Phoenix. I don't find any part of town is any better than any other. It's just luck of the draw. Swap Meets R great to & CL sometimes. Inflation affects prices everywhere & they have alot of ways to find go info on the stuff they have & price accordingly. Happy Goodwill Hunting...LOL

Good 4U. Love that old stuff. Have a friend that has an old RCA Console with two 15" speakers & two horns. Would love to run a tube head thru these. Can it be done??

To upstage Fender on their "Pawn Shop" series of weird guitars, some company should do a
"Goodwill Store" series of weird amps.

It would be a hit.

BTW....NICE SCORE !!

when I was a kid - before I owned a real amp - I had a brochure for that amp taped on my wall because I thought it looked really cool. I never actually saw one in person, and I ended up with an old Fender amp instead...

But my heart skipped a beat once again when I saw your photo.

I was going to post that this amp looks like something that was loaded onto Noah's arc, but decided not to after reading your post....

Many phonographs, tape decks and the like are guitar amps in disguise. That Jensen speaker the junk shop has is a '51. I'm always chasin' after stuff like like that.

A couple things caught my eye. They have a honkin' big GE console. I saw one the other day that had everything, AM / FM stereo with a record player and a reel to reel. Lots of good junk there! The GE has satellite speakers that have gone AWOL but there's lotsa dusty tubes inside. Then there's a '60s Zenith that might be solid state but it has cool speakers.

I crack 'em open and look before money changes hands.
