I'll estimate that it's somewhere in the $900 - $1000 range. Location factors into the equation too.

depnds on if its the blackface circuit or not, 68 being a transition year and all. I think if it has the "drip edge", its generally got the BF circuit. also depends on if it has the original speaker (original gives it more collector value). also depnds on if its been recapped (if not, figure on adding the cost of a recap).
If its got the drip edge & is all original, in great condition and has had a recap, I believe Trag's estimate might be a little low. For what its worth, I got my '71 (from it turned out a fellow TDPRI member) about 8 months ago for $700- it had a no name replacement speaker & the power tubes were a little tired but otherwise very good condition. The trem was a little weak but that somehow fixed itself. Turned out it had been recapped but I didn't know that at the time.

Thanks for the info
I'm selling it locally on craigslist. I don't want to violate protocol so I won't post a link or anything. I just wanted to make sure I was in the ballpark.
Thanks, Joe PS If it doesn't sell locally I will put it on ebay and post a tasteful notice on the forum. |

a local place near here had a '71 in the shop listed at $1100. it was in good condition, with some scuffs and marks, and a jensen "vibranto" replacement speaker also from the early 70's. it was freshlt recapped, with new power tubes. sounds awesome. it was there for a while unsold, until they had a fire 2 doors down, and it smelled like smoke.
i bought it "smoke damaged"half price at $550, a few months ago :) |
