Thanks for the info and shots. Peter is a stand up guy and definitely deserves what he's achieved. He sold me the first good guitar I ever had ~ 19 years ago. He hasn't changed much since, especially in looks. He was a kat working in Atlanta at Rhythm City, long before it was bought and changed by Guitar Center. After that he downsized to a more locally owned unit called Atlanta Discount Music, and split his time between dealing with the customer's loud noodling, and every phase that came through there to commuting to Athens, GA and gigging with his band Dreams So Real, or something like that. It was pretty cool to see the slot he got in Vintage Guitar Magazine a few months ago. Doin' well that's for sure, doin' well.

I hope I can lay claim to this turn of phrase, but it has probably been malapropriated before. Cool pics by the way. Thanks

Such a great event! That was the 1st Annual LA Amp Show, so there will be more to follow, annually.

Basically, they rented out half a luxury hotel, then gave a hotel room to each amp maker, distributor, or store. So you'd walk down hotel hallways, hearing unbelievable tones and players coming from each room!

It was SO cool to be able to finally hear some of these otherwise unknown amps side by side for listening comparisons. You won't find that at crappy mom'n'pop stores!!! Really an amazing treat to be able to listen to ALL the Dr. Z's next to each other, then move over to all the Badcats, Matchless, Fargen, Speedster, Stars by Mark Sampson, Mesa's upgraded Lonestar Specials, as well as the new INCREDIBLE 65Amps.

If I coulda walked out of there yesterday with ANYTHING I wanted, it would have been a 65Amps head/2-12, the new Matchless 3 channel Independence, White HiWatt halfstack, Trussart Telecaster, and all of the Z. Vex pedals!!! One of my favorite OD's of the day was the Menatone Fish Factory.......the best from Menatone!!!

Mark my words, the new Chinese made Vox's will be the biggest selling amp next year! I hate to say it, but they are the best bang for buck amp out there! Imagine a budget oriented Vox sitting next to a handwired Marshall 18 Watt, and having the room of people say they prefer the Vox! No joke!
