Fender Super Six Reverb on craigslist

Talk about a beast. Six JBL's, and a road case is included. Only $1200!

I've heard these things first person. NOT for the faint of heart but my lord, the sound was incredible. I invested in some higher end ear plugs after that show.

oh man! Jimmy Wilsey is the guitarist who created that cool Chris Isaak atmospheric groovin' sound back in the 80's and 90's...

I stopped Saturday night to catch a few songs from a fairly popular local blues band that a friend of mine recently joined. MY friend was playing a 335 through a Fuchs head of some kind and the other guitarist had a Tele through a Super Six. I gotta tell you, the Super Six just killed the Fuchs. This guys' tone was thick and huge and cut through the band very well. The Fuchs sounded puny by comparison. The real kicker is the guy with the Six has to be at least 60 and is moving that beast around. What price glory, right? Now I think I want one. My Super Reverb and Tweed Twin seem smaller than they did the other day. lol

Probably a nice sounding amp but i would have to have a roadie before i would own one.

God knows what that would weigh with a road case. Its got to be over 100 lbs.

Not JBLs. Altecs. If I had to choose between JBLs and Altecs I'd go straight for the Altecs.

Let's see... $600 worth of speakers (very conservative estimate) in a $600 amp. Comes with a free road case. Grab your wallet and head on over there.

From a practical standpoint I wouldn't want that amp without a road case. All that weight in a big cabinet, pretty easy to bust the cabinet.

A Dual Showman Reverb (same amp in a head cabinet) and a 4x12" with neos is a more user friendly package.

Don't buy it unless it comes with its own forklift.

That's funny, the CL text says "Fender lists this amp at 98lbs ..."

Those must be metric pounds!
