You do not have the Austrailian or Netherland
versions of the Airline amp. Right?

That is another problem with the StandBye switch.
You might forget which way the water flows.

Dudette, I am sleeping in StandBye-ON Mode
and partying in the StandBye-OFF Mode.
Can't party and standbye at the same time.
I tried it. Toppscore

Toppscore, I thought I had the sequence figured out for the last 40 years, but after your breakdown of the procedure, I'm not sure I can play through it anymore!

Hi, Bill!
Don't you believe switching from
"Warming-UP" to "Power-OFF" to "Power ON"
is a bit strange?

I can't believe I read as much of this thread as I did; no one to blame but me.

I remember an old Partridge Family episode where Danny was distracted. They started playing, the agent said, "Danny, I can't hear you". To which Danny replied, "but I'm playing". Then David Cassidy looked over and said, "Its because his amp is on standby". So evidently, when Dannys' stand by was in the stand by mode, the stand by switch was switched to the on position.

I get the confusion. Sometimes my mind wants to think the amp is on and ready to play when it says "on" at the stand by switch, and the amp is in stand by mode when it says "off. I play through a Laney sometimes with 2, a power on and a stand by switch.

I think we're all over thinking this, now I am confused and hope I haven't started talking out my A-- here.

The switch is describing its function. On or off. On stand by, no sound, off stand by, play!!!

Too funny. When I was a kid, I used to get up really early and stare at that thing til the 3 Stooges came on.

My grandfather used to use those for adjusting the "yoke" on old TV sets he repaired.

You'd remember the sound of the test tone that went along with the test screen image!

In Australia, one channel around Xmas would display after the nightly broadcasts ended a view of a fireplace burning. Not quite the same as a real fire and kind of silly for a country where Xmas occurs in Summer and people go to the beach. Another channel here displayed a real aquarium for after broadcast test pattern, which was mainly good for cats to watch...

Love the 3 stooges but they weren't as couth as we are at TDPRI...

Yes I do. I meant to mention that the tone was probably what kept me so mesmorized.

Pretty funny read Alnicopu. "Alnicopu", is that an illegal act when done in public?

The point of this thread is awareness and "KNOWING" that your amp is on or off of StandBye
and not ruining your amp with abrupt blackout or brownout surges scortching your circuitry.

Also, it would be real simple if amp manufacturers would have a
"Single Push-Button "ON or OFF" for all things power & warm-up.

Push the button on and wait 20 seconds, power is on.
Flick the "BREAK Switch ON" and go take a break.
Flick the "BREAK Switch OFF" and start playing your gig.
End of night, push the power button OFF
and the amp takes 20 seconds to slowly turn-off.
Want a faster "OFF"??? Pull the plug.

Pretty simple stuff. Toppscore
