There are $300 to $400 amps on eBay nearly every day in the same class as Excelsior.

That is true but alot of folks are addicted to cheap MIC latest, greatest thing that has tubes in it. These new offerings will sell like hotcakes, some will get modded, more will get sold off. It happens all the time.

But to each their own. Smart move by Fender though.

I live in Canada, so I contacted long and mcquade (almost the equivalent to GC).
They said that they won't have them for about a year!! They also said that they are just starting to roll in the pawn shop guitars that have been released from fender from over a year ago.

I don't want to have to pay duty and shipping for an amp.

What to do?!

Around here, a lot of folks get things delivered to a PO Box type service in a town just across the border (Oroville, WA) and drive down to pick things up.

Then you get to pay that great duty at the Boarder. Somethings I don't miss about living in Canada.

I'm not suggesting you try to smuggle things in, oh no!

Canada, that's a tough one. ebay.ca yields not one vintage combo in that price range. You should look for some old Pine amps (by the Canadian "Pepco" company). I used to have one that was grimy-sweet.

eBay.ca does turn up a crazy Champ clone made in Texas, though :)

Still sounds ragged in not a great way to me. The trem sounds sweet in all the clips I have heard.
