Victoria Vs Clark?

I know you get what you pay for. Am I to assume Victoria is a better amp cause it cost quite a bit more. Why does it cost so much more?

I think the difference is likely due to one having a dealer network and the other selling only direct. A dealer network tends to drive up the MSRP.

I build tweed amps myself, and have worked on a number of both of these brands. If I were choosing between these two, considering component choice, lead dress and overall attention to detail and build quality, I would choose the Clark, hands down.

I was not aware that Vicky's were more money but at any rate I have a Clark and it sounds awesome. Always have somebody asking about it and commenting about how cool it looks. 3-10 Bandmaster copy... lacquered tweed...35 big sounding watts and interactive tone controls. When I got mine reverb was an option and I got one with reverb but no longer use reverb as I run it with an SS Echoplex. Really well built amp and cabinet as well. Takes pedals well and has never let me down. Comes -w- a 10 year warranty that is transferable. I've had mine for about four years. Mike Clark builds the amps and cabs in his shop. The amp is made special order and comes -w- a personalized signature on the tube chart. Available only through The Perfect Note... The guy who owns TPN is a great guy to deal with.......Rico

A solid state Echoplex....... A tape based echo unit that was built in the seventies {I think}.Has an echo that cant be recreated by a digital or analog box. There are also tube based echoplex's and other tape based units as well.
Eventually I will get a Fulltone Tube Tape Echo unit as these are a re-engineered device that sounds fantastic and is built to last.

I love both, but I think that the Clark Beaufort is close to perfect. Another great builder of early Fender types is Fargen. He is young, relatively inexpensive and the tone is glorious. Allen, Carr, Clark, Fargen, Victoria; all of these guys make fantastic amps.

I've recently been demoing an amp for Blue Tone over here in the UK (see www.bluetoneamps.com ) and I came across a Victoria amp at a recent guitar show. I had a good listen to it and it sounded really great to me. I'm not familiar with the Clark amp but I could certainly buy into the Victoria fanclub if I had the money!
