Tweed Blues Jr N.O.S.

On Tuesday I went over to G.C. during lunch break and there was a laquered tweed Blues Jr sitting with a 57 Twin and a Bassman RI. It wasn't the "relic" model that came out last year- the tag said N.O.S. Plugged in and it sounded pretty good. I've been looking for a Blues Jr for a while but never liked the black. Checked out MF for a "clearance" blond but haven't seen any for a while. I really wanted a tweed, but couldn't find any used ones and thought the relics were cheesy.

Couldn't resist- went ahead and got an MF card and brought it to band practice that night. It sounds sweet and looks pretty good. I know I could do the same thing cheaper by buying a used one, recovering it & putting in a new speaker but this one's worth it!

Can't wait to see how it does at a gig!

Tweed Blues Jr.

Looks like a score!
These look pretty sweet.
Do you know how many they made of these? I know they're a 'Limited Edition'.
I did a major search for one of these a couple months ago and could not find one. No luck new or used.
How much are they going for?
Thanks,
Spoto

The sales guy was guessing about 600.

I know I'll catch some flack for this- $529. Don't be too hard on me- it's the first brand new amp I've bought in 20 years. The last one I bought new was a Music Man. I really like this one though- it's pretty versatile. Haven't really felt the need to put any pedals in front of it other than a tuner. It's very liberating!

Calling a current production amp "NOS" is a joke, come on. There is nothing NOS about it. It's the same old thing in a tweed cabinet. It's all sales hype and BS.

Anyway, if you like it, more power to ya!

The laquered Tweed is a step up from the regular if you like tweed. I do. It is a hefty price. Is it the same speaker as the black one? Maybe there is a speaker and tube upgrade. They don't mention the amp on Fender's site.

Yep- that's why I thought the "relics" were cheesy. As someone else said in another thread, "It looks just like a real Blues Jr from 1950!" I just liked Blues Jrs and to get pristine, brand new, laquered tweed one was cool. Don't really care what they call it.

It's got a Jensen "Special Design" C12N.
