I've said it before...

And I'm saying it again... the Peavey Delta Blues is a great bang-for-the-buck amp! Played a small bar in Gloucester, MA last weekend (the Rhumbline). It was our first time playing there, and I had heard it was going to be tight. We're a 5-piece, but we've had a 6th guy sitting in at our recent gigs on second guitar. Well, we had a small corner to set up in: keys, drums, the other guitarist's borrowed HR Deville, our hapr player's Bassman RI, my Delta (1x15) and the bass player.

As you can see from this pic, we were pretty much on top of each other.

I plugged my Heritage 535 straight into the PV DB, the other guitarist plugged his new Am Dlx Strat straight into the hot rod deville (4x10). It's a small bar, but it was pretty packed. Very receptive crowd, too. Anyhoo... the PV DB is a loud 30 watt amp, so I figured in this small room, I would have to keep it low. I was able to get it up around 6 (of 12), and man, did it do the job! I relied on the guitar's volume controls for coming up for solos, etc., and at lead volume, the buckers pushed the Delta just to that biting blues edge.

The amp has upgraded tubes, but the stock speaker. Darn thing sounds great, cost me barely over 3 bills (barely used) and can cover volume needs for most any gig I'm likely to play.

Man! Those are close quarters.

I gotta try a DB. As the resident Peavey nut, you'd think I've tried them all, but I haven't had my mitts on that one. Actually, I'd like to find a nice Blues Classic, which is a Classic 50 with a 15" speaker.

Absolutely, the Peavey Delta Blues is an awesome amp. Looks like it was a fun gig!
