Doggone tubes!!
Everything happens at once, of course.
Right about when the (band) minivan needs brakes, my Classic 30 starts squealing (and stops when you jiggle tubes). It's been about 3 years since I retubed it. What's a good set of fairly clean-sounding tubes for a C30?

Yeah, tell Bob you want some really really clean tubes! I've also had success in my one of my Bravos by putting a low gain ECC83/12AX7 in V1 for a cleaner tone. A couple of guys with C30s on the Peavey amp forum have put ECC81/12AT7 tubes in the phase inverter (V3) for more clean headroom, too, but I don't understand the science behind that. I'm going to try it in a Bravo the next time I order tubes.
