Speaker Doping

I have a couple of reissue Jensen c10's and get some odd overtones.I have heard that the edges can be doped with rubber cement or contact cement.Has anyone tried this and what did it do?

It ain't rubber cement that you do it with, it's dope! Otherwise known as acetate.

The reissue Jensen C10Qs I have used were already doped.

Rubber cement is a perfectly good doping agent. It remains flexible even after it is cured. I've doped speakers with this stuff.

You can use rubber cement...

On the Weber site Ted explains it.
