Princeton Reverb mods.......
after removing the feedback loop wire (from the speaker jack back to the ciruit board) it sounds even better. I have done a few small easily reversable mods to this amp and love every one of them!
so far.... 6L6 tubes higher phase invertor voltage (moves two wires) SS rectifier feedback loop removed larger value treble bypass cap 125mfd from 25mfd. |

You might want to check out how hot your power tranny is getting running two 6L6s and four 12A..7s - As a Champ item, they aren't rated for that much heater current.
I wouldn't have thought the 6L6s or ss recto would be a winner tonewise, either. But to each his own.

6L6 tubes in a Princeton is not recommended. That amp has a Champ PT, and it's maxed out as it was. Adding 6L6s makes it worse. If you want beefier output tubes, use JJ 6V6s.
