Need info on THD Flexi-50 and/or BiValve

Hey all,

I've decided to get a new amp to play my '52RI thru. I've finally had enough of fighting with my Boogie MkIV and I'd be trading it in on a new amp.

I'm seriously considering either the THDFlexi-50 or THD BiValve, and was looking for advice and opinions from y'all. I'm looking to get a more Marshally sound, and I had heard that these two do a pretty good job of that.

Does anyone know whether or not these amps are capable of a good clean sound at volume, or do they pretty much go straight into breakup? I haven't been able to find an answer to this yet.

FWIW, I play in the style and tone of ZZ Top, Skynyrd, AC/DC and some Texas blues.

Thanks in advance,

...Stormin!

Check out www.univalve.net

It's a forum for UV's, BV's, and Flexi's. Those guys are really good and they'll answer any question you have. For what it's worth I had a Univalve. It was a great amp with great tone but it went into overdrive almost immediately.

Partial Answers...

I've got a Univalve (and a lot of other amps) and my friend had a BiValve. In short - yes - you can get a great clean tone from them but not a Fender clean tone. Think Marshall.

I've never heard a Flexi....but the BiValve is a great amp - it's got the bottom that my Univalve is missing and does an amazing Plexi impersonation. If you want the Marshall thing, it's a great amp.
