I have been keeping an eye on this series for about a year now. I personally own a PRII. There is a Deluxe Reverb II on ebay right now but going to end in about an hour. It has a buy it now price of $850. I'd say this is an average price for this caliber amp.

Shake,
keep haunting local stores...You probably won't find Caper's Princeton II or a Deluxe Reverb II; they simply weren't heavily marketed or pushed in our part of the world like the "other Rivera Models such as the Concert II
and the Twin II". I've finally come to the conclusion that in the early 1980's Fender relied mostly on the input of Sales Reps in each region - those guys made more money from Concerts and Twins - because there was a serious economic boom at the time - the last things these guys wanted to push were "small - low cost Amps". I think the same holds true for most of the other regions too - America during that period had very deep pockets - you really didn't see a whole lotta small Amps from Fender until 1989 pushed anywhere. My friend Ray had a "Deluxe II" on order for so long he finally gave up and got a 1X12 Concert - which he still owns and will not sell - really worth a look - grab one while the ballpark is still $450. You won't get a good deal on ebay - just keep checking junkstores and pawn shops - it's conceivable You could walk out with a Princeton II for $225 - and DO go into places that have 2nd hand washers in the window, I got my T-100 in a place like that for $40.00 anyways good hunting.

Stan you are indeed correct about checking out shops that sell anything used. About 2 1/2 years ago I went into a used bookstore and saw the guy had just about everything under the sun in there. We got to talking about small tube amps and he says why don't you take a drive down to my wife's sewing shop, I have a few amps there.
I find the place and let the wife know why I'm there, she says I'm gonna kill my husband for putting his junk here. She was only too glad to let me look around. I saw an old Peavey Deuce in great shape a fairly new Yamaha amp that looked something like Fender's Cyber style amps, and several acoustics and electrics. Mind you there was nothing that interested me at the time but what got me was the guy really had no idea what he had himself. |

a very cool deal today is right out
in the open - The Late 1970's Peavey Classic (the one with a S/S PreAmp and 2 6L6's for the power section).
Take one of those Amps and Put a Tech 21 GT-2 Box in front of it and "let The Games begin". Before he got a Double Deluxe my pal Al had a Bluesbreaker (the new one). He became so furious when he heard my Classic with the GT-2 that he dumped the re-issue the next week - but within a month he had scored his Double Deluxe, so everything worked out pretty good. The Tech 21 stuff matches up perfectly with Peavey Hybrid Amps from the late 70's. Makes me wonder how that 1X12 "Artist Combo" would be for the Mesa Mark II thing... Y'know Tech 21's have a "Tweed Setting" and a "Boogie Setting" and ....I've never tried them !!! I'm just blown away by "Bluesbreaker"....maybe the greatest combination for ripping it up with Humbuckers You've never heard 8) .
