Blues Jr reverb problem

I just picked up a blues jr. There is a clanging sound developed in the signal when the reverb circuit is engaged, especially when the low G on the 6th string is hit. Has anyone else experienced this problem; and if so, is there a cure? Is this the nature of the TL072's that perform the reverb circuit functions. With the reverb turned to 'zero', the amp does not exhibit this problem. Even without this noise, the reverb is not one that excites me....gotta have those tubes to get that wet and warm sound, imo and experience.

The reverb on mine had a steady hum, but never any sort of clanging.
