Info about Brown Super

What value would you put on a Brown Super w/ changed grill cloth, replaced top back panel (matching tolex), Kendrick speakers. Been offered one in a trade, wondering if it's a good deal. Supposedly it's in real good shape and all original other than what I mentioned.

Also wondering if anyone has any comments about this amp? I've never seen one in person and don't know if it would suit my style (mostly hot country - from BP to Eddy Shaver)

Brown Super

2 years ago I played a Brown Super for 3 numbers at a blues party and jam (Tele straight into the amp didn't even bother with a Klon on the board there) and I went GOO GOO over that amp. I can't remember exactly what I loved so much about it, it was probably the tone between tweed and BF that I heard about Browns. Wish I would run into another one.

A blues amp-yes I'm near certain, if your country style is raw-ish, why not?

Mike, here's what I think...

It sounds like a heck of a deal. I think that you should get it and then let me borrow it unconditionally. I'll even come over and pick it up. There.

Brown Super

Most likely my favorite Fender Amp of all time. Just a killer tone. Fender to 7 or 8 then OLD Marshall the rest of the way to 10. Value? A grand or so. In the past six months I have seen completely original ones sell from $1,300 to $2,400.

Best Blues,

I can't believe more folks don't freak on brownfaces...

... I dig 'em more than blackface, silverface, and dare I say it, even the venerable tweed... they're perfect. Don't have a Super, but I have an old Deluxe and a RI Vibroverb. My fave Fender tones hands down.

I play a '62 brown deluxe.... :D ....got it in '83 before I knew very much about tube amps... .....all I knew was that it was the first amp that I ever had that I didn't have to keep twistin' knobs to find GREAT tone and FEEL :D
