Custom Vibrolux Reverb Footswitch?

I bought myself a secondhand Fender CVR at the beginning of the year, and absolutely love it. Unfortunately the shop I got it from lost the footswitch and so far I've been waiting five months for Fender UK to get one in and sent to me. Anyone know of a two button, stereo jack footswitch that'll work with it? Fender now reckon they might be able to get one in by the end of August - I want some reverb now - not in two and a half months time!

Genuine Fender ones on eBay are just waaaayyyyy out of my price range here in the UK - over $100 for a piece of wire, a jack and two buttons, before shipping? I think not!

I guess you could make one in the interim, it's a dual button, hot to ground dual (stereo) 1/4 inch plug. Stick a 1/4 stereo plug into the jack and short the terminals to ground for the reverb to stay on full time.

good luck, great amp !

Thanks chap, but my electronics skills are pretty negligible, I was just wondering if there might be something like a Marshall footswitch that I could pick up cheaply that'd do the same job. I've tried the channel select footswitch from my old JTM60, but that turns the Tremolo on and off. The search will have to continue!

Fantastic sounding amp, though - combined with my Boogie V-Twin, it's all I need!

Unless Fender pulled some funny stuff with the wiring, any 2-button type footswitch with a 1/4" stereo plug should work. I picked up a cheap Vox version for under $30US. Try www.tubesandmore.com
Reverb/Tremolo signals on the tip and ring, common return on the sleeve typically.

Footswitches

Sounds like you need a couple of these:

and a stereo jack.

Not sure that counts as electronics :->

Give me a shout if you need some help.

Those Fender footswitches are crap, I have mangaged to break 2 of them over the years. The original one for my Silverface Twin still works and it is over 30 years old. They really do not make them like they used to.

Got to www.tedweber.com and order the WSW-F2 2. It costs $20 and is way more solid than those overpriced footswitches that Fender is selling. And it will probably outlast you or the amp. Has a 12FT cable to.

I still have the original one for my Silverface Twin so they do not make them like they used to

Thanks guys - think I may go for vjf's idea and get in touch with Weber - less likely to burn myself to death with a soldering iron! I made up four patch leads the other day and I'm gonna have the scars to prove it for the rest of my life!
