This Vox is new to me
I just saw this at Musicians Friend. I was impressed with how cheap it was, the AC30 and AC15. Then I noticed a lack of info about tubes. Is this amp a solid state amp? It's solid state and they're calling it an AC30 and AC15? That's just wrong.

Yea, there's been a couple of threads on this one already.
Its basically the same circuit thats in the Valvtronix series without all of the effects and models. There may be some digital modeling in there to get the AC15 or AC30 like tones I'm not sure. To answer your question there's one tube in the valve reactor circuit so I guess that makes it a hybrid though its much closer to ss than tube. However, most all of the reviews say it nails that AC15/30 tone pretty good. The digital reverb is supposedly a weaker reverb than the ones on tube AC amps and there's a 200ms delay when switching between the channels. Outside of those 2 things they sound like great amps though they seem a bit pricey. |
