victoria 5112?
Is a 5112 loud enough to play in a band situation with. Anyone with actual experience, please comment. I have an oppurtunity to buy one for around $850.

depends on your band. It could probably handle small bars, jams, or practice if you don't need headroom. I use it in a 4 piece and it keeps up for rehearsal (smaller room).
If you have big space to fill or a couple guitars you'll probably need more if you're not using a mic. However, if you always practice with a PA just keep a mic and cable in the back and your set. After a couple gigs mine became my #1 just because it's so light/small and the tone is so good. Once you plug it through a PA it sounds bigger than most amps, and I love being able to get all my tone in the PA with a low stage volume. Never have to worry about power soaks, noise, or how your rig will sound if you can't crank your amp. |
