Pathfinder 15R into Frontman 212R
Has anyone plugged a Pathfinder into another amp to use the high wattage of the other amp to generate more volume from the Pathfinder?
Do you use the external speaker out or the line out? What kind of cable do you use, an instrument cable or a speaker cable? and. . .What input do you plug into? The 212R has a variety of input jacks. . I love my 15R but need more volume, while my 212R only has a sharp clean sound and volume, but not as great a character as the Vox. Any help is appreciated! |

As I've posted before, I sometimes run the line out from a Pathfinder into a Yamaha DS-60-which is similar to the Tech 21 Power Engine, basically a single 12 cab with a 60 watt power amp built in (sorry, the period on my computer is not working!) along with a 3band eq that can be switched in or out - It works exceptionally well and gets that lovely Pathfinder tone up to some serious db's!

You use line out and instrument cable.
I have done it into a Marshall 50 W head. Works great! You can use instrument input jack. If you have some line in (or something) you can try that. I would assume that it bypasses the EQ of the FM, which may be sonically good or bad. Experiment! |
