Vox DA5 Portable Amp

Does anyone have any experience with these? I'm thinking to buy a micro practice amp for the house and this one seems to get good reviews. I went to GC to try one out and both units they had didn't work. Not sure if it is a problem with the units or with GC.

There are lots of threads about this amp and the Roland MicroCube. Both seem to be fine and a lot of fun, so long as you don't have unrealistic expectations from their tiny speakers.

I have one and I think it sounds great. If they did not work at the GC they probably have the wrong AC adapter hooked to it. I tried to buy one there but they lost the adapter so I could not hear it there. I run mine on batteries all the time. Good clean, Good mashall type distortion in one of the channels, plenty of effects to keep you busy.

Some like 'em, some don't. I do. When I can't carry my "real" amp with me, it's a great solution. 11 amp models and however many effects? A lot of 'em don't sound that great to me, but the rest do. I would say I have 4 or 5 amp models I like, and 3 or 4 effects that I use. Not bad for the money, and the next guy might use different things than I do. Compare it to the Roland Micro Cube, some prefer those. Assuming your GC figures out how to make them work.
