Jay Turser CLASSIC-25RC
Does anyone have one of these? The price is decent and they look soooo cool. I want one, but I want to know if anyone has experience with this amp.
http://www.jayturser.com/classic-25rc.php Before I got on this forum I never heard of Jay Turser or Rondo or guitar fettish! I though the only way to get a decent inexpensive guitar was to bid on a harmony/kay/silvertone from ebay and even then it was kinda iffy on what you got. I had no idea they were making decent instruments at a great price and that there is no shame in not having a fancy name on your headstock! Thanks! |

They are pretty great cheap amps that look way cool. I got one from a pawn shop, in excellent shape for $90. It is now one of my favorite amps. It looks cool in the living room. Seen them on Ebay for around $50. That is a steal for this amp. The Clean channel is really nice and works w/ pedals. The Gain channel is decent. The 10" Eminence speaker is very decent too. It's better than a $100 dollar amp. Sounds as good as my VOX AC4 tube amp, although Vox is a different tone to be exact. The reverb is ok if you don't get carried away with it. The Chorus adds some nice texture too. There's a lot you can do with this thing! I think it's well made and there are a lot of attention to details on it like little chicken-head knobs, gold trim & screws, nice looking carry handle (although I just pick it up like a box in my arms), permanently attached power cord, nice tweed cover, and cool wood front w/ ingrained logos. I keep the volume at 50% or lower and that is loud enough for what I use it for. But if you crank it, the sound deteriorates, but I never find myself cranking this amp, it's not how I use it. I only cranked it to see how it performed. If you need to use this amp in a loud setting, better to mike it at a lower volume. My main amp is a 60W Fender tube amp, the Turser Classic 25 is a good compliment to something like that in an amp collection.
