Replacing 2 Prong Plug with 3 Prong. Help!

I have a '66 Champ that had a two prong plug wired in. The plug was crap and I want to replace it with a three prong plug. I can see the two connection on the chassis for the chord wires. Does it matter which side of the chord ( 2 wires on it ) I solder into the connections? Where should the ground wire go? Thanks for any help offered!

It really shouldn't matter which wire (black or white) goes to which of the wires on the power transformer, but it's probably a little bit better to place both the switch and the fuse in-line with the black wire on the new cord, and to run the white wire directly to the transformer. Solder and/or crimp a ring connector onto the green/ground wire and use one of the power transformer mounting bolts to hold that to the chassis.

Most people recommend leaving this wire longer than the other two so that the ground will stay connected should you somehow manage to yank the cord hard enough to break one of the other connections.

This link should help out a little bit.
