I Need Some Vox Help

Hey guys, my Vox AD30 Valvetronix is doing something a little strange. I can't tell if it's just my ear or if there's something wrong with the amp, but recently I played a Fender Tele Deluxe through it, using a relatively high gain setting and the amp would squeel, even if I wasn't playing anything at all and almost seemed as if it was trying to squeal even while playing, anytime there was a brief moment between chords just before the gate kicked in.

Today I switched guitars to a Gibson SG Classic using P90's and had the same thing happen, only this time even at the highest gain settings it seems to be lacking some gain. It does that same electronic sounding squeal thing anytime any knob is pegged, volume, gain, master or eq. If I back off of all of them I may be able to knock the squeal off, especially at the AC15 and AC30TB settings, which still sound pretty good. But the amp just seems to have lost it's Boutique drive tone, which was my favorite, and I have no idea why or where this noise is coming from. It's almost like the little tube has gone microphonic, but the tube is not directly powering the amp but instead coloring the signal, so it doesn't make sense that this would be the case.

By thie way, this is at bedroom volumes using the built in power attenuator.

Anyone else ever have this problem?

I have an AD20vt, as my practice amp (very similar) and microphonic pickups will squeal at extreme gain settings. THe Fender WRHB pickups of the kind found in a Tele DEluxe will do this. If the SG's P90s are unpotted, the same will happen with them.

Thanks, I just thought it odd since my SG has never done that before. I think I may have messed up the noise gate default setting by messing around with the effects.

Maybe the percieved loss of gain is just my ears messing with me. I usually have the amp angled up at me and this time I had it flat on the floor, so the problem in all probability is me.
