Minty early SF Champ $285

on the bay - 285 to your door - no connection to auction - but someone out there is wanting one - I already got mine!

50-70$ to russia? To canada should be the same price. Not a bad amp for the money.
I just dont need another.

I think the free shipping is a red flag too. Seller does have a 100% positive rating though, with over 500 transactions. Interesting indeed...

Why isn't anyone asking if the speaker is original?

Champ

I would consider buying that if I wasn't knee deep saving for another right now. My fear is buying any amp off ebay, except for a few certain ones I know are fairly a safe bet...it just seems like such a risk at times. Has anybody has good or bad experience with ebay vintage buys?

I am always looking, too much actually, and have been very close a few times. A feweeks back there was an Allen sweet spot for 900, and was gone before I was able to commit. Broke my heart, and then today another PR clone from David Hayes 'Lil Jenny' sold for 950.

I would love to hear some stories if anybody has bought vintage Fender amps off ebay. Thanks for the link too!

Even if it does get shipped to Russia, the user will either have to:
A. Put a different power transformer in it (Russian voltage is 220);
B. Use a converter; or
C. Use the amp as furniture or a conversation piece.

free shipping is a red flag ? really ? i always think its a nice bonus. i don't see what the concern is with the auction. the guy has perfect feedback, and he's responding to questions. my only gripe is the pics aren't great.. he's just using the 2 freebies that come with a standard listing. i bet if a potential bidder is really interested, this guy would email some higher res shots. looks like a decent price for a nice little champ to me. if i was shopping, this would certainly be on my watch list.

Bought my '69 Vibrochamp of eBay a few years back for $280 shipped and have never looked back. Wonderful amp. Guy has good feedback. Looks like a good one to me.

It's gone -

I owned it's twin - a Champ-Amp with screwed in baffle - an excellent cabinet - and for some reason that issue face plate tends to avoid the faceplate oxidation that is common - so they age very well -and that blue thread grill is cool.

I guess I'm just jaded from being burnt on ebay in the past. Free shipping is a nice bonus, but I find that not many sellers do ship free, so I'm always curious about those that do. This is true particularly of heavier items such as amps (though I understand a champ is not a twin).

I'm sure this is good seller. Like i said, 100% feedback on 500+ transactions is a good sign.

my experience ha been... you can tell a lot what to expect from a seller by starting a dialogue with them before ever deciding to place a bid. i won't buy a big ticket item on ebay without poking a few questions at the seller just to see who i'm dealing with.
