Princeton Chorus-Red Knob or Black Knob Version?
Just wondering what everyone's opinion is of these 2 models? I see them for sale from $149 and up, usually $199 is an average price range.
Is one model/version better than the other? What's the general consensus from players that have used them? I know it's a SS amp, but I'm not concerned with that aspect of it. |

I have both, there's no difference - knobs and grill colors, that's all. The red knob version is the newer of the two amps I have, but I can't see any real changes, and the tone I get is exactly the same between the two.
![]() ESOTERICALLY, I like the classic look of the black knob/silver grill scheme, and that may make them hold their value a little better - or not. I swapped a couple of knobs to "color code" the volumes for ease of adjustment under poor lighting (and old eyes).

At some point Fender started building these in Mexico, but I'm not sure which year. Mine is a '95 and was built here in the USA. I don't think that matters although some people might prefer the American made amp. It's a fantastic amp, either way.
