Super "Sicks"

Just came across a SF Fender Super Six. Wow that thing is a beast! It weighs more than me! I guess it is a twin reverb chasis with some extra room. As if a twin reverb isn't loud enough - add 4 more speakers! Just a little something to get those who haven't seen one to research.. If I only had unlimited funds and the space . .

Jimmy Calvin Wilsey, aka "Wicked GTR, King of Slow"..... of El Dorado and Chris Isaak fame is a notable player of one of those cool sonic headboards......

Twinchassis w 6 10" Speakers

I had one, a real beast to move around, but they sound great, more like a "Super Duper" Reverb, I don't know that it is louder than a Twin , with 6 10" speakers it sounds different.

Fender also made the Quad Reverb, Twin chassis w 4 12" Speakers.

My buddy had a 135 watt SF Twin Reverb with 2 Fender JBLs and that was the loudest amp I've ever heard, it would cut through anything anywhere.

For the ultimate in sickness...

A Super Twin fits right into a Quad Reverb cabinet. If you feel manly load it with EVMs.

Betcha can't lift it...

IF a TR isn't loud enough, get one of these or the Quad REverb. Same circuit in all 3 amps, but when you move more air, things get louder. IF those aren't loud enough, get a Super Twin or Super Twin REverb....6 X 6L6's and 180 watts.
I believe that Albert Collins, aka the ICeman, was wont to play the Super Six.

Saw Albert Collins one time at Keystone Berkeley. My ears are still ringing. Also Waylon in Salinas back in the mid eighties. Lots of Quads onstage that day.

i played in a band with a guy who had a Super Six, and that thing would blow the doors off any joint. the sound man didn't even bother to mike it up. great sound and lots of it! his had casters on the side, so it wasn't hard to transport over level surfaces.

thanks for the correction, cousinpaul....The Iceman did jam the quad reverb. I saw him in a little club here in Lubbock in the late '70's.....oddly, his volume didn't bother me.

It was a double-bill with Son Seals. Man, those guys brought the pain... but in a really good way!
