Laney GC-30V

I got one on loan for a test drive right now. It's the early 90s model with 2 x 10" HH speakers.

I kinda like this thing (I like the clean channel better than the gain stage though). Not especially loud, my 70s Deluxe Reverb is much more robust than this amp.

I had been contemplating some sort of Vox type amp for awhile, sold my old Laney half stack for $500, now I can get this combo amp for $300 and get a lot more mileage out of it. Plus it's something other than a Fender sound, just to have something different in the stable.

$300 I don't think I can go wrong on it.

I sold my MAZ 18 reverb on eBay last week after buying a 10 year old VC30 for $260!!! I have had Guytron, Goodsell (still have MkIII), Boogies, BF and Tweed Fenders, etc. but LOVE this amp! SWEET SWEET LOUD LOUD Hot Cathode biased EL84 w/ great headroom but sounds great at low volumes, great reverb, H+H 35 watt drivers (like Fanes in Hiwatt). FSwitchable second gain stage darkens it up a bit for Marshally grind. 56 pounds for a 2x12!! Over $1000 cheaper than Dr. Z or Vox!
I have been doing this for 35 years but had never seen or heard one of these great amps.
