Pre-amp tubes for my 79 Twin Reverb

Hi

I need to replace all the pre-amp tubes in my amp. They are the original Fender tubes and they all show low emissions and a couple are now microphonic.

What would you guys recommend, either new or NOS?

I haven't been playing for long so im not sure what type of sound I want from the amp. I just want it to sound great with my Tele.

I am currently running Svetlana 6L6GC "Winged C" tubes.

Also, what do each of the tubes in the pre-amp do exactly?

Thanks

Good Idea, I really like the Jan 5751 NOS (not expensive for NOS, around 20 a peice) for positions 1 and/or 2 on a vintage twin, helps bring the massive volume down a bit. I'd go Tung Sol 12AX7 and EH 12AT7's for the rest, get a matched phase inverter too it makes a big difference.

Tung Sol, Electro Harmonix, Groove Tube Gold, etc. there are many out there. A good quality tube is definitly a good starting place. I put all Electro Harmonix tubes in my '65 Super Reverb and it sounded great.
