Ideas for fixing reverb tank rattle???

So I've been working on my Marshall Artist Head. Sounds better than ever. It's a major, major, clean channel monster now, and the gain channel is as ridiculous as ever. But now I have a new problem... Now I that I have a really bodacious low end coming out of this thing, the reverb tank is rattling like crazy. I can move the head off of the cab, and get it to stop, so I know it's a vibration rattle.

I tried sticking some soft rubber washers between the cab ceiling and the tank, and I think I actually made it worse.

So, any ideas on how to get rid of it? It's loud as hell. Like loud enough to be heard over the amp at high volume. Maybe put some foam weather stripping between the edges of the tank and the head cab? Maybe wrap the tank in something? I don't have a whole lot of room in there. This isn't the stock tiny tank, it's a full sized four spring...

Is the tank rattling on the cab? is the rattle internal to the tank? Or is it something else? What fixes it depends mostly on what is actually rattling.

Well, I stuck those soft washers in between the cab and the tank, and if anything, it's worse now. So I am assuming for the time being that it's in the tank itself. That said, when I take the head off the cab, and set it on the couch, it stops. So I'm thinking what I need is some way to isolate the tank form the amp's vibrations. I would welcome any input on a way to do that that doesn't take up a lot of space. This is a big ass tank in a small box Marshall head. Real estate is at a premium. I could go back to the tiny stock tank as a last resort I guess, but the 'verb sounds so good with the big tank, and so bad with the small one, that I really don't want to.

I'm not pulling at apart again today. Getting too late to get into working on the amp again. BUt I guess my agenda for tomorrow includes pulling the tank again and seeing if I can get whatever is vibrating and rattling to stop.

Buy a reverb bag & put the tank in it with a piece of cardboard cut to fit underneath. That's how Fender isolated tanks in older amps

Found the rattle. It was those little posts inside the tank. They were loose and rattling around when the head would vibrate. I soldered the bases of the posts so the posts won't move, and all is fine now. No more rattle.

As an aside, if you ever need to stop chassis rattle, cab rattle, any kind of vibration stuff, I found something that works great. They're called foamies. I found them in my five year old daughter's craft bin.

It's sheets of 2mm pretty dense foam with adhesive on the back. You can cut it to any size or shape you want, and stick it to any surface. I've used it to insulate between the tank and the cab now, with awesome results. I've also used to stop the chassis from vibrating against the cab on one of my bandits. The stuff is awesome, stays put, and works like a charm. My wife says it's like $.99 a sheet at craft stores. Comes n a wide variety of colors too!
