My New ( Old ) Fender Bronco Amp!
I got this from a CL OKC ad yesterday. $ 250.00 ( fair price ). Here are a couple of pics. This is essentially a rebadged SF Vibro Champ. Non - original tubes, speaker and 3 prong chords. A bit of rust on chasiss ( naval jelly will fix that ). Plays well and will do even better with a new Weber speaker in it.
Now all I need is a Princeton Reverb.....

What do you need a Princeton Reverb for???
Oh... I know why.... ![]() This is the best sounding (IMHO) clean rig I ever played through. Had a few friends, some of them real pros, listening to what these babies can do together.. jaw dropping. I set both for a little tremolo (3-4 on the intensity dial) and slowest (1-2) possible setting. I add reverb (my VC has reverb as well) and balance out the volume on both. The effect is overwhelming. Bell-like with a hint of chorus and soooo deep. Amazing. I wish I could pack this sound and take it everywhere. Makes me want to play open chords forever.... |

$250 is a nice score! About what I paid for my '69 VibroChamp a couple years ago.
IMO, if you'd like a bit more headroom, a ribbed Weber ceramic (like and Sig8S) would give you a bit more out of this amp than the stock speaker. But looking closer, I'm not sure the speaker in yours is stock. I can tell you I'm thrilled with the Sig8S in my VC, though others like the alnico version or the more expensive and "boutique" 8A125. |

Look I'm all in favor of saving a buck but the VC Bronco deserves some NOS tubes and the Weber 8A125
Been through 4 of these in the last two years. a BF, 2 SF and now the Bronco. I keep trading down because they're all the same circuit and tone. I sold the BF for $800 I sold the SF's for $400 I bought the Bronco for $90. Except for cosmetics and cab construction these are all the same amps. Incredible

Man, do I love my SF Vibro Champ. Its such a great amp. Mine is mostly original, but I wouldn't have cared if it wasn't. I bought it to play, and I do. I got mine for $330 plus I spent $90 on a 2nd Champ cab w/the baffle cut for a 10" speaker, which was included (Weber Sig) from a member here. I've got an El Cheapo Danelectro Reverb pedal I put in front. I'd love to have a matching 1x12. I bet it would just kill.

I was ready to buy 4 of them for my ygm-4 but held off.
Are you buying directly from weber? I know their 6s are backordered. Didnt see that for the 8s.

Weber's listed lead time is about two weeks as I remember. So, I could order from them, but I think it would end up being about the same delivery time as the internet dealers of Weber.

Who do you get them from? I have only dealt directly with Weber. For parts their jacks and pots etc are cheap chinese crap (you get what you pay for) and their shipping is a little high. Other than that they have been great to deal with (in fact I buy 99% of my stuff from them, AES, or stewmac and if nothing changes I cant see switching suppliers any time soon).
