Thinking of downsizing my amp. THink I may sell my Palomino V32 and get a VOX AC4TV (or marshall class 5).

The V32 is a great amp. Good clean channel and nice dirt channel. I cannot do the one thing that I want to do. Play at bedroom levels and with the volume knob on the guitar go from clean to crunch like the VOX does on the 1/4 and 1 watt settings.

I really like that ability to dynamically change the amount of grit with the guitar volume knob.

The V32 is great to go from a chimey clean to a great drive but no in between...........

For home use, this is probably ok, I would never gig with my AC4.

Also, just a heads up on the AC4 volume. Its not "bedroom" completely. Even on 1/4, I can not crank in my apartment. Its still loud.

Yep 1/4 is very loud for a bedroom unless you want clean at barely on.I played one at Guitar Center and it was a look at me at 1/4 watt with some volume to get some tube distortion.

I've been pondering this same thing lately as even my 6V6 powered tweed Bassman is just too loud for in-home playing on a regular basis. The AC4TV (particularly the head/cab setup) looks to be a promising low-watt solution, but I have yet to try one. Interesting to hear that it's still rather loud even on the 1/4 watt setting. Hope to get a chance to try one out soon.

I've got my Blackheart Little Giant on consignment at the local music store to buy a Vox AC4tv. Reason being mostly, I get moved around the house a lot and the Blackheart is just too darn heavy. Also after trying one out I was really impressed with the tone. Very fun little amp.

I picked one up for the same reason of playing quietly and hoping to get some nice power tube distortion that wouldn't get the "look" from the wife. Even at 1/4 watt the amp is too loud for that. I still like it a lot though. YMMV

You might also want to take a look at AC4TV8, which has 1/10W option against 1/4W.
