Standby switch problem

Last nite I turned on my Carvin MTS212 tube amp - the power light went on but when I flipped the standby it did'nt light up and the amp made no sound. I hadn't used the amp in almost a month. Now what? is there some obvious troubleshooting plan to follow ?
can anyone suggest a link for simple tube amp troubleshooting (for dummies ) ???? :?

is the fuse okay? if yes then i'd pull the power tubes and see if anything lights up. Do you have a tube rectifier? Replace it with a new one and see if you get some power..
