BTW, I neglected to mention that I adjust the bias also. It was at 60mV (factory setting), I adjusted it to 75mV.

I'm sure that improved the tone a bit also.

What power tubes are you running in there? That is pretty hot for the stock tubes. I like to run at about 65mV for the stock groove tubes that come with the amp. Anything hotter just shortens the life of the tube.

these amps are biased really hot from the factory and do tend to run hot when played for long periods of time. When I used to own a couple of these I set my bias a little cooler and I never had any more heating issues

'Kay, Ill go by and readjust it. Everything I've read said it comes adjusted "cold" from the factory.
