So who all is gigging with a PV C30?
Let me know your likes/dislikes, gear you're using with it or anything else you think is relevent.
I'm especially wondering how it would sound as part of a two-amp rig with a SFVR. TIA, dB |

Classic 30...
I think that the likes/dislikes might have been covered before, but I've been gigging with the C30 for a few months now but It's heavily modified it to get it sounding how I want. A Weber Cali, tone mod and new tubes+ bias circuit is what I've done. It serves nice with my GT-3 which replaces all the pedals I had. As for it being part of of a two part rig with a SFVR, I would say that it would sound very different, considering the EL84's are a totally different beast.

I am currently gigging with a Classic 30. I play mainly country and rock with the band. I have only had it a month or so now. I like the amp very well. I only use the clean channel. The OD is alright but I don't have a footswitch so I use my Blues Driver in front for some distortion. The amp's sound is nice and warm without becoming too bright like my Deville 410 did. I actually traded the Deville for this little tone monster. The only complaint that I would have is the damn tube rattle. I don't think it's so much the tubes as it is the little brackets that support them. They make a tube tamer thing that is available on Ebay for 20 bucks or so to cure the problem. It is plenty loud for the gigs we play. Although everything in our group gets mic'd, I still think it would cut through quite well. I put the volume on 5 or so and use the guitar's volume knob for further control, bass at 10, mids at 3, treble at 5 and reverb on 3. I do not use the boost switch, I think it adds too much mid range mud. It has plenty of clean headroom. I am going to throw some JJ's in it soon and I can't wait to see what kind of difference new tubes make. As it is now, I am more than happy with it. Go get one!
