Polyprop vs polyester?
Putting together a weber order and I don't know the difference here. Voltage is the same as is the resistance. Who can clue me in? Thanks

You don not say, so I assume you are talking about "tone" when used for coupling caps. My experience with caps is that they impart a subtle, not fundamental, tonal variance in amplifiers. People hear things differently. They are so inexpensive, you should just buy a few different caps and see what you think. Yes, there are very expensive caps available, but that is not what you are asking about. As a side note, I assume you meant capacitance, not resistance.

As a starting point, I suggest you use polyester everywhere you can. PP is brighter, in a bad way, to me. Thinking back, the only place I have found PP useful was in the power supply and cathode bypass.
I am of course talking musical instrument amps here not HiFi. |
