If I trade up to a Bassman RI
won't I still be looking at the same reliability issues as the DRRI?

more experienced folks will reply...
But I don't think I've heard too many complaints about reliability for the Bassman RI, where I have heard plenty concerning the DR RI.
Our harp player plays through a Bassman RI with stock speakers and some improved tubes, and it's a great sounding amp. Don't think he's had any problems with it either. |

No problems with mine.
Last year's model. No laquer finish.

I've never had any problems with mine personally, but I've heard about the pot shafts breaking and the input jacks breaking (with a cable plugged in), both allegedly due to weak components. Also I've heard of bad solder joints, and I've also heard that the board is very hard to service.

It's very reliable
It just does not sound anywhere close to a real tweed
from the 1950's....if I'd break down and use some pedals it would probably sound decent BUT that is not why I spent my hard earned DOLLARS for a Tweed..... When you have a really great Tweed adding anything 'cept Delay is silly IMHO.

No Problems Yet
Mine's an early one, as the polarity switch is actually hooked up. My brother bought it used and eventually sold it to me and I've gigged it fairly often. No issues yet other than the usual tube wear and some scuffs/wear on the cloth
