65 Tremolux

I was thinking of buying one from one of my local dealers. But i'm curious, Whats the difference between the AA763 and the ab763 circuts. It sure sounds good and isn't as powerful as my Twin. Any advice is appreciated.

The AB763 has a 1500 ohm resistor from pin 5 (control grid) on the power tubes to ground. The AA763 does not have this resistor.

See Tremo's post below...by bad error!

Uhhh....not quite, Wally. That 1500 ohm resistor is in series with the control grid, not to ground. It's called a swamp resistor, and it's to help with the amp's stability.

Tremo, thanks for setting me straight. I knew something didn't seem right about that, but I didn't take a second look at the thing. where are my glasses? I guess I was hung up on the older circuits where the empty 1 pin ties to the 8 and to ground. I'll wake up sometime later. My apologies to all...
