Amp advice: Behringer GM 110

Hi
I recently bought one of these amps.It is a great little tool which surprised me with its wealth of sounds.......However, the problem is that i am now on my third one from the dealer and the problem is as follows: If you use the amp on high gain and set the volume to more that half way it produces a horrible loud clicking noise on the attack of a note ,it is very akin to digital clipping and is more noticable when you set more bass.It is a shame as the amp potentialy sounds better at higher volumes. It is not a digital amp by the way.
Although the last one i had was worse am i really expecting too much of a small amp?Does anyone have an experience with these amps? D.I. through my desk it sounds fine,as it does through head phones......But through another cab it does have the same annoying problem. Is it a power stage fault?
If anyone can help i would very much appreciate.
Cheers

Tosh,

I have a GM 110. It will make that noise when it is set at the higher volume levels. I believe it is the speaker. When I turn the bass down (below 11:00) it goes away. try backing off the bass and see if that solves your problem.

I love the amp. I use it for a nice fat tone at lower volumes. I have been tempted to use it in the clubs, but I have a love/hate relationship with my Marshall. I love the tone but hate moving it around. At 3:00 in the morning it is twice as heavy as when you set it up at the beginning of the evening.

Thanks for that
I suppose also that transistor clipping will sound nasty in comparison with a valve'like' tone ,with the amp cranked up.I took the amp back to the shop.......but i'm sorely temted to go get it back ,as the sounds are really rather good.
As regards to using live, i have heard that they work well going into a PA........As for heavy amps.....well, i know what you mean....i have the same prob with my Twin amp.
Best regards
T

I have a GX210

That I really like. I picked it up used but near mint for a song, and pretty much use it exclusively in my basement now. I do use a pedal for the o.d, but the clean tone is very good, IMHO. Alot of the effects are very usable too.

My tube amps have been getting a rest lately.

I haven't done a gig with it, so I imagine that would be the true test. It would be fine for small rooms, or even mic'd in larger rooms, I suppose.
