Fender is replacing my DRRI
Some of you may remember I had to have the thing in the shop which turned out only to be a bad switch. No big deal.
A short time later it started making this ghost note kind of thing. At low volume the ghost note which was a growl was getting as loud as the note. I take it back in and leave it. I wasn't really griping or anything. I just wanted it fixed. The tech calls me later that afternoon and tells me it's very sick and that Fender was going to replace it. He tried to explain to me what all was wrong. It has something to do with the ribbon connectors and other technical stuff and interference. ????????? Whatever. Anyway, I hope the new ones OK. I kind of wish I didn't have one. I wonder if I could trade them for something else. I appreciate the fact that they are replacing the amp and all but I feel I've lost confidence in the "new" Fender.

That story goes a long way towards supporting the argument that these are disposable amps. I would certainly encourage you to deal off the reissue and get an old one that was made to last a lifetime.

Yeah I had one and got rid of it. Not a good build. Me no likey ribbon cables and connectors. Of coarse all the big boys are using em in thier production amps. Me no likey components such as pots and jacks directly soldered to the board. Big whompum problema when you start having trouble.
As Tim said these are not made to last a lifetime.
