fired up my 52 tweed pro
This amp had been modded, so I converted it back to the original specs, replaced the original filter caps, put in the correct tubes(6L6's, not 6V6's), put in some new CTS pots(keep the 1 original), replaced the radio shack speaker with a RI jensen p15n, and fixing to get the cab sent of for retweed.
Now what I might have a problem on is the preamp and PI tubes. They are 6sc7's and the ones in it are ratty! I don't know if I want to keep these, find some replacements(ham radio fests or tube suppliers), or get the weber drop in 12ax7 adapters.
Also the output tranny is not original and not traceable. I contacted the manufactur(Ensign Coil) and they said that it was manufactured for zenith. Also they purged all of their docs 7 years ago, so no info on the tranny.
Now what I want out of this amp is playability!
Oh yeah, sounds awesome, other than the hum and oscillation when I crack the amp to 12 on the instrument channel. Also the jumpering the channels doesn't have the cool mod effect that I've heard of. I guess I need to study the amp more.
