Good price for Mesa Boogie Blue Angel?

I'm considering buying a Blue Angel 4x10 from a private party. He wants $800. Everything in the pictures looks good, so, given that I try it out and everything works right and I like the way it sounds and it comes time to talk money, is $800 a fair price? OK? Killer? Could do better?

I checked eBay and I saw one 4 x 10 go for $800 BIN with no bites. The 1 X 12 version went for $1385 and $900. I guess the back breaking 4 X 10 is less desirable?

I'd like to offer $675 and go from there. Any input would be appreciated, especially regarding price/value these days. Thanks!

-Bernie

$675 for the 4x10 would be a steal. I'd happily pay $800 (I own the 1x12" model).

Best of luck.

$800 is a decent price for a 4x10.

I paid £400 for a head about a year ago- around $650, which is a pretty decent price in the UK.

I've bought and sold several Boogies and the Blue angel seem not to be the most popular amp(I've never had one either) but I wouldn't spend much more than that for that model.

For once - It is a STEAL!!!!
$800.00 for what is for all intents the closest One can ever hope to get to a Black Faced Super Reverb tonally for under $1500 - and that would in all likelihood be a basketcase!!!
I'm very very envious of Your good fortune.
Don't hesitate for even a moment they're great Amps, they're 5 knobbers, and they're bomb-proof.

$800-850 is the going rate for one in excellent condition. That's what I paid for mine about a year and a half ago, and that's what I just sold it for recently.

I paid around $600 for my 2x10 Blue Angel almost 3 years ago. I considered it a bargain. Great amp! The most un-Mesa amp they made (least amount of knobs and switches). It should hold its value if you don't like it. Go for it.

Nice one.

I am loving my BA- it is a wicked lil amp for jamming with friends and small gigs.
Put an OCD or similar on the front end and you will be in hog heaven.
IMHO it loves buckers more than single coils- but that could just be me.

Got it!

I picked up the Blue Angel this afternoon. The seller couldn't find the slip cover, so I ended up getting it for $680. With the exception of a bit of a scratchy volume pot, everything sounds great and it's in great shape. Bonus - it isn't as heavy as I thought it would be - nice...

Thanks for all your input.
