constipated speakers

hi guys, during the last rehearsal with my spanking new weber alnico speakers, i could really hear, how the constipation of the speaker went away and thing got a bit looser and less harsh. or maybe i was just dreaming.....

You're hearing what you're hearing. That's a new stiff cone getting worked in and getting used to its new job.

If you really want to break them in plug them into the radio, crank it up and leave it for a couple days.

glad to hear the alnico's are working out, Eddie! i love mine ... with the Webers, just remember: what you're hearing now is the worst they'll ever sound — every time you play 'em (for about the next 20 hours) they'll sound steadily better!
