Favorite/Best Speaker For huge country-Telecaster Tones

Well Ive got my trusty Valve junior and Crate v30 heads... and a 4x12 avatar cabinet. Right now i have a greenback and a g12h30 in it... Well Ive got a strat and a telecaster.. and a les paul with alnico ii pickups.

Ignore the les paul.

Okay well im looking for more of a country tone. Think Stuff like Brooks and dunn or Jason aldean.

The guitarist for Brooks and dunn uses celestion g12h30s and g12-65s. and eminence legends. Im not paying that much for heritage 12-65's... lol

On top of that ive never played a 12-65 so im not sure what it sounds like... besides a fuller greenback.

I love ritchie Kotzens tone here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIVS6...eature=related

He uses Vintage 30s...

Ive been looking at WGS (Warehouse guitar speakers.com) and Eminence.

Im not really interested in the overpriced celestion stuff. Would consider some weber speakers.

Ive emailed both eminence and WGS to see their suggestions and ill post what they think here as soon as they email me back, that way you guys can help me decide even more.

Now right now with my greenback and g12h I noticed something. With the g12h the note seems to be cleaner? Kinda like more solid and defined, almost like i could reach out and wrap my hand around it.

With the geenback i dont get that fullness or cleanliness Its much smoother and i dont get that full pop of the string? it would be like sticking my hand into fog and trying to grab hold of it.

Now what im wanting is a speaker That doesnt break up real grainy or turn to mush. Like how a greenback would. I need there to be a really good full clean note. But when its overdriven I want to be able to hear that clean tone still but for it to be just a bit dirty. Verge of breakup type tone. I know SRV has the tone i like. That tone that is clean yet distorted at the same time. I know he was getting speaker distortion he had huge evm-12l speakers in his cabs.

I know awful yet creative descriptions lol.. i hate describing guitar tones. I know what i want but i cant turn what i know into words......

I have an OEM EV12L. The 80's ones are pretty reasonable. You really only need one since they are 200W.

Here is one on ebay, that I have nothing to do with but watching:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=330331287482

This is the best speaker I have (again- the auction isnt mine, I have the exact same speaker and will never sell it). Its unbelievable in every application- british or american amps, clean through extreme OD, low volume through head explosion volume. I have a small collection of celestions and weber's and have done shootouts, this one beat them handily. No matter what I was putting it up against, it always sounded like it had a richer, fuller sound. More 3d, and broader spectrum. It performed better across all playing styles as well- power chords, open chords, barre chords, noodling, arpeggios, etc.

I've had it in closed back and open back- sounds great in both. In the open back, for me, it needed a beam blocker. In the closed back it didn't.

Celestion is the last place I'd look for country tones. You want something big and US-voiced, like a Weber California.

Yep, Weber California or Eminence Swamp Thang for loud-and-clean.

I've got a bunch of speaker reviews (Blues Junior-oriented) here:

12-inch speaker reviews

For loud and clean, a C-rex can also bring the goods.

There's an Eminence, too, but I can't think of the name.

Eminence makes a delta pro12a that is supposed to resemble the evm12l...

WGS suggested a g12-65 and veteran 30 (vintage30 clone) mixed.

Havent heard back from eminence yet but im gonna send en email Ted's way... he's a great guy... very helpful and easy to talk to. He's incredibly knowledgeable about amps and speakers. He has always given me the most detailed responses as well in his emails to me.

I heard somewhere Brent Mason also uses the Vintage 30s - along with his Deluxe Reverb.
