I picked one of these puppies up at the Dallas Guitar Show over the weekend after playing it for a while. Nice little amp. Definitely has a bit of Vox chime with the volume knob under 12 o'clock and the tone knob pretty much wide open. With the volume cranked, the low end gets pretty mushy and the highs a bit spiky. However, I also ran it into one of the Night Train 2 X 12 blue dog cabinets and it sounded much more open in that configuration. The mids and lows don't sound much like an AC15 or AC30, definitely has it's own character.

When the sales guy was ringing me up, we noticed something interesting. The amp's serial number is 1. Not sure if this actually indicates it's the first model of the assembly line for retail sale, but cool none the less.

Needless to say, I'll have a full review and clips up at FrugalGuitarist.com in the future, until then...

I have to say....I like it better than I thought I would. I liked it at the end when he cleaned it up a little. It did have some nice chime and if reasonably priced could be fun to A/B with a Champ....especially for recording.

I picked it up for $210 at the show, $250 is the current street price which is still a good deal in my book. We're going to be doing a low wattage tube amp roundup at FrugalGuitarist.com in a couple months with the VOX AC4TV and Fender Champion 600. Additional amps to be added when/if the manufacturers are willing to participate or are locally available.

GAS is just a fact of life on this site so get used to it. But it also gives us all a chance to live vicariously through other's purchases when we are dead broke-LOL!
